Getting Started Checklist

Install Server

Install Windows 2000 or 2003 SERVER

Assign it a fixed IP address

Install IIS

Test IIS

Do all windows updates

Optional: turn on Automatic updates

Optional: Install Anti-virus

Install database engine

Download SQL and database installer

Do the Downloads (4 items on the right menu of the installer)

Confirm setup variables: SQL Instance,User,Password and datanase names

Do items 1 thru 8 of installer

Install Patcher Program

Do item 9 of installer (download the pather program from "Click here for latest..")

Run the Patcher program after you download it

Install Helpdesk application

Click the red bar to installl the base application along with support utils

Click the Database updater

Upload your icon

If setting up LDAP, make sure to allow bypass for the first time

Configuration

Add users (or setup LDAP)

Setup a technician

Setup technician rights and groups

Add locations/cost center/departments

Configure User view

Configure Tech view

Optional: setup Self-serve

Optional: setup LDAP schedule
